Side Effects:

- If you have any allergies to oregano, thyme, marjoram, basil or similar plants, avoid using Oil of Oregano.
- Avoid getting Oil of Oregano in your eyes, mucous membranes and genital region. It may cause a hot burning sensation. Flushing the area with milk, yogurt or ice cream is effective. Using water may just thin out the oil and spread it more. Call your physician if the burning persists or gets worse.
- What about Oil of Oregano and pregnancy? No documented studies on side effects or dangers. Consult your physician if you're pregnant or breastfeeding before using Oil of Oregano.
- Oil of Oregano and Children- Oil of Oregano can be used with children. The dosage and application is based on the child's age. I got these dosage suggestions from a bottle of Oil of Oregano:
- Suggested Recommended Oral Dosage for children 5 - 10 years old is 1 drop, 1 - 3 times per day mixed in juice or milk. Don't exceed 7 - 10 days of use. Children 10 years old and older may use 3 drops, three times per day in juice or milk.
- Suggested External Use Guidelines for children 6 months to 5 years old: Dilute 1 part Oil of Oregano in 4 parts olive oil and apply to soles of feet and spine. Add a few drops to warm bath water with bath salts. Chilren 5 years old and older may use it directly from the bottle on soles of feet and spine. Dilute oil for sensitive skin areas. Can apply by rubbing in olive oil, or other oil first before applying Oregano.
Keeping these tips in mind should help you get the most from using this oil and avoid an oregano oil side effects. Remember that the 'heat sensation' is normal. Oregano oil may cause skin irritation if you have very delicate or sensitive skin. It's also recommended you drink plenty of water when taking Oil of Oregano internally.
Common sense use and following the recommended label dosages and instructions will ensure you get the most this supplement.

I had to go-over and remember what I did for my toddler granddaughter, as she seemed to have aquired `yeast` from bad diaper rash. Cannot give adult remedies. Rubbing the feet was excellent. Oregano is on my medicine shelf now.
